We had a wonderful time with Peri for the Kobe food tour. I only wish we had more time in Kobe to book his other tours. Will definitely use Kansai Local Tours again.

Fantastic and informative Kobe food tour

Peri organized a tailor-made tour for us that included a cooking class! She went out of her way to find the perfect class, and the experience exceeded our expectations. We learned how to prepare a multi-layered Japanese breakfast in a former sake brewery building, now converted into a sake tasting and pairing center. The owners greeted us with great hospitality, and the chef, wife of the owner, was incredibly patient and expert in her teaching. After the class and enjoying our delicious creation, Pere continued the tour with his in-depth knowledge of the area. In addition, he made sure we returned to our accommodations without a hitch. I highly recommend Peri and the Nadagogo Sakedokoro experience.

Fantastic gastronomical experience

We had an amazing tour w Pere. What a wonderful interesting person. We learned a lot about the history of the area, saw great sights and of course had delicious local food!! We enjoyed going to local places that we would never find on our own and experiencing new dishes. What a fun afternoon. We wish Pere continued success; he is quite an inspiration speaking many languages fluently with a great background in education. Thanks Pere!

Kobe Bites: A Culinary Food Tour

The guide was very nice, flexible and helpful. She introduced the foods that I want to try without the effort of guessing which one is best because obviously she knows the best- I was so full at the end of the tour. A bonus that I d8dnt expect was an all you can drink sake ( of different types) for 30.minutes - that was fun- thank you for introducing Kobe delicacies - I would recommend -

Everything was perfect

We had a wonderful afternoon with Pere doing the Street Food Tour. He has such a great interest in all things food and took us to sample so many great foods. Pere is very discerning with his recommendations so you will eat very well and enjoy the whole experience! We wouldn't have been able to see and eat so much good food without him :)

A great afternoon with Peri

Short answer: Yes! We’ve done a couple of food tours in Japan and this is definitely different and special. Of course the tour is expensive but then so is high quality Kobe Beef. It’s not something you can do cheaply or if you do find a place selling inexpensive “Kobe beef” you’re probably being ripped off. We had a great afternoon with Peri who gave us great insights into the world of Sake and how it’s made, the background of what makes Kobe beef special and showed us around some fun parts of Kobe. Obviously the highlights were tasting the Sake and Kobe beef. It was also interesting getting to know a perspective on the expat experience from someone who’s moved to Japan and been here a couple of years. Would highly recommend the tour if you want to get to know real Kobe beef!

Personalized and premium tour: Sake and Kobe beef, is it worth it?

You quickly realize that he not only knows his way around but also likes to share his knowledge - a great tour guide and a highlight of our trip. Thank you for that.
